Yesterday I decided to go ride a trail that everyone up this way that bikes/hikes has been recommending over and over. It's the D&L Trail section between Jim Thorpe and White Haven. I was going to start at the railway station in downtown Jim Thorpe but it was very crowded and busy even at 9 AM so I headed up the Lehigh Gorge State Park and started at Glen Onoko instead. The weather was absolutely perfect and the trail lived up to its hype and then some. I rode for 44 miles total, give or take, and got some waterfall pictures as well as some wildlife including a Northern Watersnake. I'll see how they all turned out when I get home.
So far I'm having fun doing nothing I had planned and not doing anything I had planned. I'm to go see the perennial gardens at the Lehigh Gap Nature Preserve and then go hike out to Bake Oven Knob with an acquaintance. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain the next few days so we'll see what happens.
This morning I have to go attend a memorial service for my aunt. I don't know what I'll be doing after that. Maybe I'll just take it easy at home since my legs are a little sore after that ride yesterday. Maybe I'll go to the mall and spend money I don't have.
